About me
I'm Ruben, a Belgian student from Brussels, now studying Computer Science at EPFL and curious about how technology changes the way we live, work and connect.
At school I like the parts where theory turns into something that runs: algorithms, computer systems and machine learning. I have built projects like a Swiss public transport route planner and a two-player cooperative game.
I also like bringing people together. As elected president of the Alliance Brith, a federation of five youth organizations in Belgium, I ran a sports event for about 1,000 participants. The rest of the time you'll find me on a tennis court, under water with a scuba tank, at the boxing gym or on skis, usually with a camera and a house playlist.

ReChor
A route planner for Swiss public transport that finds and compares efficient journeys between two stations.
- Returns several Pareto-optimal journeys instead of a single fastest one, trading off travel time against number of transfers.
- Shows each journey in detail: lines, departure stops and platforms, times and every segment.
- JavaFX interface with origin and destination search, a list of recommended journeys and a detail panel.
ICoop
A 2D cooperative game where two players, Fire and Water, explore areas and work together up to a final boss.
- Two simultaneous players with complementary elemental abilities.
- Element-based interactions with enemies, walls and obstacles, collectable items such as bombs, and a final boss with ranged attacks.
- Object-oriented design: double dispatch with a visitor, polymorphic entities and cell-based movement rules.
